Q: Why do I have this nagging left back pain?
I had a hysterectomy 2 weeks ago (my ovaries were left behind). I have experienced lower left back pain that sometimes radiates to the lower left side of my abdomen. I have run a low grade fever but nothing to exciting. The pain is constant and I cannot get comfortable! Any ideas?
A: Melissa:
I am trying to research this for you. Was going to email you – but cannot. Will ask my questions though here: Did you call the doctor yet? Was it only the uterus that was taken or was it the tubes and cervix as well? When you say, “low grade fever,” can you please give me a number? What did the doctor give you for pain?
I am continuing researching… will check back for your answers….

Q: I am slightly over wieght and have bad lower left back pain?
Okay i am 15 years old slightly overwieght and when i go up steps, down steps, sit down stand up or bend over i feel extreme jolts of pain going up my whole left leg and back, any ideas on what to do?
A: Sorry that you are in so much pain, I have been there with the lower back pain and leg issues and know it is hard to manage at times. You definitely need to see your doctor ASAP for proper diagnosis and treatment. From your description of symptoms, it sounds like you’ve developed sciatica but again your doctor is the best judge of what’s going on. In the meantime, try not to put too much pressure on your back or legs until you see the doctor. Hope you find relief soon…Good luck!
Q: Upper Left Back Pain After Slouching In Chair?
After being at the theater watching a movie.. I was slouching it was comfortable at the time but. At the end of the movie when getting up. I had a little bit of pain in my upper left back! Few hours later it has been hurting me really bad sharp pain taking my breathe away sometimes it was hurting that bad.. hurt when laying down could not get comfortable last night. Would be great with some answers on what you all think it could be. Thanks!
A: Hi, I’ve had similar pain all weekend after doing some cleaning, but i always slouch & give myself backache while gaming. I’ve been to the Drs this morning & he told me not to stay still but to do some gentle back exercises, like slowly leaning over from side to side, then lay on the floor on your back with knees bent up, feet flat on floor, keeping knees together gently roll your knees from side to side. Maybe worth looking up more gentle back exercises on the net.
Q: What is this new stabbing pain in the middle upper left side of my back?
I have suffered from chronic back pain for three years now. I am 31, not overweight, and did not have an injury! I had disc replacement surgury on L4-5 about a year and a half ago with no success. Discography shows that the L5-S1 is not healthy and may be the cause of continued pain. In the past few months I have developed left leg pain and numbness with very bad hip pain as well. This stabbing in my left side (on the back) has just happened and is just aweful when I wake up in the morning. No position helps! Is this a muscle? I can locate it straight away with my left hand reaching back and it hurts to the touch. Any ideas?
A: sounds like a pinched nerve, sciatica.

Q: What could be causing my lower left side back pain?
I have been in severe, crippling lower left side back pain for over a month now. The pain killers aren’t working, I can’t bend over to do anything without being in pain, and the xray revealed nothing. I can’t sit in my chair at work without being in pain. I have done NOTHING to injury my back. What are some possible things that could be causing my crippling lower back pain? Thanks.
A: have you had any bloodwork done? kidney problems can cause pain in the lower back
Q: why do i have severe left abdominal and left back pain and hurts when breathign?
I have no clue how I have this. i woke up today and now i have this and urinating more than i was. maybe because of nerves, but i cant even move hardly. it hurts my temp is 99.7. i dont feel sick, just lot of pain and fatigue.
A: that sounds like a problem with your kidneys, they are located towards your back, filter blood to produce urine..(pee) and maybe you have an infection (the high temp) call the doctor
Q: Can Food poisining cause lower left back pain and vomiting?
My hubby had fish and chips for lunch today. Now he’s in terrible pain with dry heaves.
A: =(
That’s either his kidney or his intestines.
Sounds like food poisoning.
Try the doctor.
Soda might help the tummy.
Q: Lower left back pain after running hurdles?
I do 7-flight hurdles and shuttle hurdle relay. After I run them, it hurts really badly when I step on the ground with my left foot. I have to limp. The next day it is usually normal again, or at least better than before. I go over hurdles with my right foot.
A: Since you are right leg lead, and your left leg or foot hurts, it is probably a muscle strain, because you are not flexible enough to run the hurdles.
You can try to stretch and use some massage or therapy to get your muscles loose so you don’t have the pain.
Ice after running can help.
Q: why do i have left severe Abdominal pain along with left back pain?
I have no clue how I have this. i woke up today and now i have this and urinating more than i was. maybe because of nerves, but i cant even move hardly. it hurts my temp is 99.7. i dont feel sick, just lot of pain and fatigue.
A: could be a urinary track infection
Q: I get lower left back pain just from standing. It’s better once I sit or lay down. What could it be?
It started about a week and a half ago. I can’t just stand around and do nothing or it hurts. Like at work for example. I can’t be in front at all, cause all you do is stand there. In back making food though, I’m moving around and it doesn’t hurt. It also hurts to put weight on it. I really do not know what it could be and it’s only in the lower left part of my back.
A: You really need to see your doctor. It sounds like a musculoskeletal problem (arthritis or other anomaly of the spine, back spasm secondary to another condition, etc.). It could even be a urinary tract infection.
Pain is a symptom of an underlying condition that often needs professional treatment. Don’t delay. What may be a minor irritation one day can become much worse over time.
Q: where can I get information on the cause of lower left back pain?
I recently strained my back and am experiencing a different pain other than the usual sore muscle pain

Q: Very bad pain in upper left back,in a specific area, next to spine.I am 32 wks pregnant.I am worried about this?
The pain is so bad. I cannot even sit up properly. It started last month. When my husband presses or puts a muscle balm on it I can pinpoint exactly where it is. I do have some overall back pain as well but am worried what this particular pain is.
I have cervical spondylis as well on the left side of my neck, could this be related?
I am thinking about so many bad things that this could be..Please help
A: I am so sorry to tell you this, but there’s nothing you can do. I had the same pain from about 5 months on with my first. and i have it now with #2, and I know how excruciating it can be!! Tylenol, heating pad, rest, and a good massage. Find a massage therapist in your area who is certified to work on pregnant people. You can talk to your doctor-they may send you to physical therapy, and depending on you and your doctor medication may be an option. There are muscle relaxers and pain treatments safe for pregnancy but some doctors won’t prescribe anything. Good luck, I know how awful that pain is!
Q: 30 weeks pregnant, lower left back pain. does not feel like a nerve pain. what should i do?
pain started more on my left side has not moved down lower and more towards the middle of my back but is more to the left. i have taken 3 tylenol they have not helped
A: I would suggest you talk to your obgyn or midwife sooner than later about this pain you are experiencing.
Q: What to do when you have lower back pain on left side at 39 weeks pregnant?
I usually have a little bit of lower back pain. For the past couple hours my left side of my lower back has been in enough pain that its hard to walk. If anyone knows what this might be a sign of that would be great to know.
A: Could be labor.
Whenever I have back pain (I normally get it up in the middle left portion of my back) I have my husband stick his fist in there and rotate it a little. It hurts like heck while he’s doing it, but afterwards it feels like he released whatever was irritating my back.
