Q: What could cause terrible upper stomach pain?
My fiance experiences regular heartburn but for the past hour he has been having a completely different type of pain in his upper stomach. It is so bad that he can’t get comfortable and it won’t go away! At first I thought it was gas but he’s taking Gas X and even a pamprin…still, nothing has helped. If you have any educated or past experience suggestions or advice, we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
A: It might be an ulcer. The acid might have created one and now he’s feeling its effect, which is stomach pain. He needs an upper stomach endoscopy test done.

A: u could be developing lactose intolerance. try cutting the dairy out for a couple days and see if it goes away. i had the same problem and it turned out i was lactose intolerant.

I usually only feel nauseated at night….but the upper stomach pain is on and off.
A: Why don’t you try taking an enema or some laxatives and then see if you still feel the same way after you poop. If you are severely constipated then it can cause nausea.

When I lay on my left or right side at night. I have this sharp like constant pain in upper middle part of my stomach, right where the fetus line starts. I told my doctor but, he did nothing about it. So do think it could be just my organs being squish together, or could it be the baby kicking and punching in that area. Please I need your advice because it really hurts.
A: i would say this is indigestion,You probaly ate some food that just didn’t set well.If it gets worse get a 2nd opion,after all you and ur baby r most important. If you do feel like it might be indigestion than you could take (Tums Ultra).It has calcium in it.My doctor recommend it to me because i had the same problem & I would not drink milk. best of luck 2 u.

I’m 33 weeks a 2 days pregnant, and this is my 3rd pregnancy. I did a lot of walking around today because we went shopping for the entire baby’s room. When I got in the car I noticed that the upper middle part of my stomach hurts. I mean it isn’t a sharp pain, more like a muscle pull type of feeling. The baby has been moving like normal, so what could this be? I know i’m just being a worry wart, but it bothers me.
A: My sister had those exact same symptoms in her 2nd trimester it was because she was dehydrated. You need more water.

So my grandmother is a 68 year old, borderline diabetic and had gallbladder removed a few years ago. She has been complaining that her upper stomach hurts constantly and gets worse at night? She is already on prilosec for acid reflux, but says this pain is different. She has lost around 60 pounds in the last year because she says it hurts after she eats. Doctor has done a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy and found nothing, any idea’s?
A: Get a CE CTscan of abdomen done to rule out pancreatic pathology (in old age pancreatic Ca present just like APD)

A: Probably her gallbladder, she needs to see her family doctor. They will order a whole bunch of tests (blood work and at least an ultrasound to check for stones). Its a common problem!

Pain,pinching between my rip cage upper stomach.
Feels like pinching heartburn like but worst.
Doctor tells me to wait 1 more week to see what happens.
All my blood work came back negative.
If still in pain in one week need to see a specialist and test will be done with camera.
Could this be a stomach bug of some sort?

A: I had similar pain. I found that I was constipated. The American diet using white flour and sweets is not good. I started fasting the evening meal and taking castor oil about once or twice a week. Castor oil tastes nasty but works the quickest for getting the bowels moving. I have lost about 30 lbs and could stand to loose about 30 more, but now I feel much better.

A: She should get it checked out because I felt the same way before and I waited forever to go to the doctors, I couldn’t sleep, eat, or do anything active, when i went to the hospital they said it was pancreatitis, inflammation of the pancreas, I had to stay in the hospital for a week and i’m only 14. She might have inflammation in the stomach or something.
