Q: When pregnant, in the third trimester, is a low back pain always something to be worried about?
I’m 29 weeks. I have a low pain in my back. Should I be worried or just take it in stride?
A: Unless its really sharp pain it is probably just achiness from the extra weight and position of the baby. You’ll know if its something to be worried about. Usually a constant ache is just body soreness, but if it comes and goes with different intensities I would call the doctor to be safe : )
Q: How long do you leave a TENS unit on for low back pain and hip pain? Is there a limit to how long to keep on?
I have been having severe low back pain both sides, radiating into buttocks and left hip for 2 months. I just started using a TENS unit today with limited instruction. How long can I leave it on?
A: Mine cuts off after ten minutes, so that is all I do, ten minutes every hour.
Q: I am suffaring low back pain what type of swimming strokes can adviceble please explain me which strokes best?
I want to know what type of strokes best for relief low back pain ,Is it adviceble back stroke ?
A: Has your doctor recommended swimming to you? If you are having back pain, you should get the OK from a doctor before any type of new exercise! That said, swimming isn’t going to relieve low back pain, but it is a form of exercise that is much less jarring on your joints than aerobics, running, etc. Freestyle is the easiest and most natural body position. Stay relaxed and swim slowly and gently.
Q: What should I do about my severe low back pain?
I have had severe low back pain for a week now. When I wake up in the morning I struggle to get up out of bed. It hurts when I walk and even when I sit down. If I drop something on the floor I cannot pick it up. I have tried Motrin, aspirin, Alleve, and Tylenol, but nothing works. I also have cramps that resemble menstrual cramps. The back pain is literally immobilizing me. Any suggestions?
A: It’s important to determine the cause of your back pain.
This can really only be determined by taking a thorough history and doing a good physical exam.
You have been given advice to take more pain pills, muscle relaxers, etc.
That’s great unless you have a herniated disc……
point is, as this has been ongoing for 1 week, and has failed pretty agressive Over-the-counter meds, then I think it might be time to get it checked out especially if you are having any pains radiating down your legs
Q: What are some good excercises to do at the gym that will help ease my low back pain?
I have an almost constant low back pain that I think have incurred from doing some ab workouts the wrong way. I am a pretty active young male who goes to the gym often. Is there a few good stretches that I can do to warm up before lifting weights that will help me get rid of this pain?
A: You should take a yoga class, it did wonders for my back. I have no pain at all now.
Q: Is it normal to have too much low back pain at 29 weeks pregnant?
I’m 29 wks and have been having low back pain lately..
I had contractions since I was 25 wks pregnant, and I’m now 29 and although the contractions ceased considerably, I am not having low back pain…
Is this normal at this point? It doesn’t hurt to walk, but I feel it all the time and it’s not strong, but it’s there.. I also feel it radiating to my buttocks.
Thanks in advance.
A:
Back pain or discomfort is common during pregnancy and should be expected to some degree by most women. Back pain may be experienced during any point of your pregnancy; however, it most commonly occurs later in the pregnancy as the weight of the baby increases. Back pain can disrupt your daily routine or interfere with a good night of sleep.
You are not alone if you are experiencing back pain during your pregnancy. The prevalence varies with reports, showing between 50 to 70 percent of all pregnant women having back pain.
Hope this info helps…..
Q: Does chiropractic work for low back pain?
I am thinking of seeing a chiropractor for my low back pain anyone have any stories?
A: I used to have really severe back pain but couldn’t figure out the reason why… There can be a lot of possible causes so it’s better to have an MRI or CTScan just to be sure… I wouldn’t rely on internet opinions to treat this problem… I took my free scan at http://tinyurl.com/lcarcv
Q: I am getting bad low back pain what should I do?
I have very bad low back pain that lasts a day or two. It is on my right side and shoots down my right leg. I feel the pain in my right side as well. I don’t want to just take pain meds so I have not went to the dr. I thought about a chiropractor but still unsure. It is very painful and prevents me from holding my 13 month old….HELP. Should I just suck it up and go to my Dr?
A: I use The Back Pro for all my back and neck pain. I was introduced to it a couple of months ago and it really fixes any problems that come up, like waking up with pain in my hip, or lower back pain and muscle pain. I’ve been sleeping better and the pain in my thigh and leg when away very quickly. I use it every day, and I don’t have to take pain killers, which is something I really hate to do.
You can check it out at http://www.backcarepro.com/
Hope you get some relief soon.

Q: Is it normal to have LOW back pain after 26 weeks of pregnancy?
I’ve read that low back pain is a preterm labor symptom..
I’ve been having low back ache for 3 weeks.. It’s also listed as a normal pregnancy complaint..
A: I had all sorts of pains when I was pregnant!! No worries, you’ll know if its labor….
Q: What is a good , non surgical, method of resolving low back pain caused by a hernieated disk?
The disk pain is in my low back just above my sacrum. I am attempting to avoid surgery due to the fear that i will be unable to function as a person after the surgery. I have see the results of some surgery.. They patients have never been the same.
Oh yes, I am in China for the moment. I do not have access to a Chiropractor
I am studying Tai Chi every morning. It gets me outta bed and moving each day.. I can say that.
A: Surgery should be your last option.
I suggest seeing a physical therapist if necessary but avoiding poor posture. Positioning for comfort and daily abdominal crunches should help.
If it hurts don’t do it. And get a comfortable bed.
If you get back spasms due to the herniation, see your doctor, you may need an antispasmotic.
Low back pain is a chronic condition. There is no easy fix. Therefore, think long term solutions. You know your body and your pain better than anyone…gauge the effectiveness of your interventions by how you feel.
Don’t overly rely on pain meds. They can build tolerance and don’t cure you. Use them only for the really bad days. By the way, alternative pain interventions really work. Don’t think they don’t. Research yoga or meditation. Avoid chiropractors for herniated discs. They won’t help in the long run.
Hope that helps.
Q: Does anyone know of any good home remedy’s for chronic low back pain ?
I have chronic low back pain for the past 20 + yrs and I seldom go to the doctor for anything. I have used up all of my vacation time on my back and it still hurts a lot. It is very hard to walk sometimes. Bent over or limping towards one side. Any help would be great.
A: Hi Ed! Have you ever tried Tramadol? Tramadol is used to relieve moderate to moderately severe pain. Tramadol also may be used to treat pain caused by surgery and chronic conditions such as cancer or joint pain. Tramadol works by decreasing the brain’s perception and response to pain. Tramadol also reduces the size or magnitude of the pain signal passed from one nerve to another. Tramadol is a wonder drug for me! you can find more info on Tramadol at www.Buy-Tramadol-Online.info. also, You can Buy Tramadol Online with NO prior prescription and they ship via Fedex Overnight. Good Luck Dear!
Q: What is the best low-cost ergonomic office chair for lower back pain?
I have serious lower back pain with two dehyrdrated discs in the lumbar. I also have an office job. Sitting is absolutely killing me. I’m in physical therapy, but I’m hoping an ergonomic chair might help some too. Unfortunately I need to buy my own chair, and I can’t really pop for an Aeron. We just have your typical swivel, up/down task chairs. Does anyone have a suggestion for a sub-500(400 would be even better) ergo task chair?
A: Dehydrated Discs are part of the normal aging process. As you are already in Physiotherapy, then ask the Physiotherapist to refer you to a Occupational Therapist and they will first measure you up for a chair and then recommend a place where you can purchase one. As for cheap chair, no such thing. However you can buy chair supports but again you need to ask PT or OT for the best type for your problem. Best of Luck
Q: What causes sudden and severe low back pain?
I’m in good shape and in my mid 30’s but over the past year I have, for no discernible reason, been hit (all of a sudden and on 2 different occasions) with debilitating lower back pain that just cripples me for days and then goes away.
A: You might have spinal vertabrae out of place, or you might have something else going on, like gallbladder disease – that often causes back problems – or even kidney stones which will hurt your mid- to lower back.
Q: Why and how to cure low back pain after basketball workouts?
2 days ago i had pain in the lower back. I can’t bend very well without pain. Does anyone know anything about it???
A: We need more information. Exactly at what point can you bend your back without pain? (Flexion and extension measurements?) Do you feel any pain going down your thigh? (which is a sign of radiculopathy of the spine). Can you rotate your back? How much do you weigh? How long are your workouts?
It sounds like you have a back strain but you may want to see an orthopedic physician and do an MRI if the injury gets worse.
Good luck.
